I am interested in Professional Employment...
A Professional Employer provides an integrated service enabling business owners to outsource the employment-related functions in their business to a professional body (e.g. payroll, workplace health & safety, human resources, industrial relations, etc).
Appointing a Professional Employer results in the seamless outsourcing of a business's Human Resources, Industrial Relations, and payroll administration.
Haycroft takes on responsibility for:
- Maintaining full compliance with Fair Work regulations
- Ensuring workers receive the correct pay rate for their age and job classification
- Paying workers on a regular cycle and issue them with payslips
- Administering PAYG tax, payroll tax, Centrelink deductions, Superannuation, WorkCover premiums, and Group Certificates
- Managing the recruitment, performance and termination of workers
- Protecting business owners from hefty penalties such as Unfair Dismissals, breaches of Workplace Health & Safety, and failure to comply with ever-changing Industrial legislation.
Using a Professional Employment service creates a form of co-employment between the business owner, the staff, and Haycroft Workplace Solutions.
Haycroft effectively becomes the 'employer' of the staff, assuming responsibility for all operational functions such as payroll, superannuation, recruitment, dismissals, etc.
Meanwhile, the business owner retains the right to control and direct staff on site in accordance with their wishes.
A Professional Employer is one of the most powerful cost-cutting business efficiency tools you can use, by way of:
- reducing unit labour costs
- eliminating penalty rates and overtime
- protecting you from the potential of huge liabilities for breaches of industrial legislation
All workers employed by Haycroft are covered by our approved Collective Workplace Agreement, which pays a flat rate for all hours of work. This eases cashflow and dramatically simplifies rostering as we are not obligated to pay overtime, penalty rates, or allowances.
With all these savings, most businesses achieve increased productivity with less staff.
An immediate benefit of appointing a Professional Employer is that you are taken out of the firing line of the Workplace Ombudsman's activities by ensuring full compliance with every aspect of employment.
Haycroft takes on the responsibility of meeting all employer obligations for PAYG tax, superannuation, worker's compensation, workplace health and safety, and employment law compliance.
This is a major factor. Failure to comply absolutely with these requirements can lead to serious financial penalties.
Our co-employment strategies mean you retain full ownership of the workplace with absolute support from us, including expert advice and guidance on complex matters such as performance management and terminations.
If you find that a worker is no longer required or you deem them unsuitable, the onus is not on you to dismiss them. Simply inform us of your concerns and we will reassign them. There are no Unfair Dismissal issues for you.
Our charging structure is simple and transparent, calculated as a small percentage of the payroll we administer on your behalf. It's as simple as this:
- You send us the total hours worked each week by each employee
- We calculate all employee payments including Superannuation, WorkCover, PAYG, payroll tax, and any other entitlements
- We pay the workers
- You pay us
All services. One invoice. Low rates.
Not if it's done right.
When you decide to use a Professional Employer, it is essential that the transition is conducted smoothly. There's many wrong ways of doing this, but experience has taught us how to get it right the first time, every time.
With hundreds of successful transitions under our belt, we use a tried and tested procedure to facilitate effective communications between every party involved, streamline integration into the new scheme, minimise disruption within the business, and above all... foster a happy workplace!
No.
While handing over such intrinsic functions may initially seem daunting, you will actually seize greater control of your business by appointing a Professional Employer. You retain full ownership at all times, with absolute support from us.
Our focus remains solely on employment-related tasks and obligations. Liberating yourself from the burden of these matters means your time and resources can be channelled into the core operations that generate profit, increase productivity, and grow the business.
