Fair Work Ombudsman targets Vehicle Repair & Maintenance Industry in early 2012
An Australia-wide eduction and compliance campaign targeting the Vehicle Repair & Maintenance Industry is being undertaken by the Fair Work Ombudsman, the Australian government agency responsible for protecting the rights of both workers and employers.
The Fair Work Ombudsman will conduct audits of randomly selected vehicle repair and maintence employers across Australia in early 2012 to ensure that Australia's workplace laws are being met.
Employers must ensure they understand the basics, like:
- the ten National Employment Standards and how they affect you;
- whether the Vehicle Manufacturing, Repair, Services and Retail 2010 Award covers your business;
- the minimum rates of pay that apply for your workers.
